The Capstone Curriculum, based on Matthew 21:42 where Jesus says, "The stone that the builders rejected has become the capstone" is a 16-module training program, taught at a seminary level, which we specifically designed to serve as the most essential knowledge and skill learning necessary for effective urban ministry. The curriculum is designed for the students to receive 32 hours of seminary-level training. All 16 modules may be applied to our Certificate in Christian Leadership Studies.

Our Capstone Curriculum is a comprehensive educational program designed to equip urban Christian leaders for effective ministry in the urban church and the city. The Capstone materials were created for the student, mentor and/or adjunct faculty in a church or organization who is interested in preparing urban Christians for vital lay and pastoral ministry, as well as outreach in urban evangelism and compassion ministry. The curriculum is designed to serve as the most essential knowledge and skill learning necessary for effictive urban ministry. The curriculum itself is composed of 16 separated modules (i.e. courses), drawn from our four departmental units here at The Urban Ministry Institute of Chester: Biblical Studies, Theology and Ethics, Christian Ministry and Urban Mission. Each Capstone module contains a mentor’s guide, student workbook and two DVDs (approximately 4 hours of video). The curriculum is designed for the students to receive 32 hours or seminary-level training. All 16 modules may be applied to our Certificate in Christian Leadership Studies.
